"While rowing looks graceful, elegant and effortless when done well, don't be fooled. The sport demands endurance, strength, balance, mental discipline and an ability to continue on when your body is demanding that you stop." "Rowing is one of the few athletic activities that involves all of the body’s major muscle groups. It is a great aerobic workout and is a low-impact sport on the joints."

I AM iNTERESTED IN ROWING, HOW CAN I FIND OUT MORE
Check out our Website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. These will give you a flavour of what we are about. If you want to find out more call down to the club on a Saturday or Sunday mornings around 11am. We are normally there from Mid September to 1st week in July and look for one of the coaches or the Captain.
What age do you have to be to start rowing
The youngest people start is when they are 12 or 13 years of age. However you can start at any age after that.
Do you have to be able to swim to row
Our boats have built in buoyancy, that means you can never sink even if the boat topples. However all our athletes should be able to swim. We run competency tests in a local swimming pool when ever the numbers allow.
